The Webcramp Project

so i’m bettin’ you guys thought i’ve dropped of the face of the earth. well, not so much.

while i haven’t posted a show in almost 4 months, i also haven’t closed the doors on the podcast either. at this point i don’t know when a new episode will be released. it may be in a few weeks, or it may be longer. in mid to late january i was released of my duties at my former employer and have been concentrating more on finding employment than anything else. with my lack of activity here, i thought i would at least give some sort of explanation.

just another bump in the road from my point of view, and only a matter of time before im back behind the mic recording episode #14.

for any of you that listened to this podcast, you probably know i had another show with my friend G called The Ear Bud Lounge.  the idea started when G and i were working together, but took about a year and a half before we actually got the ball rolling.  things in the beginning started slowly, but we eventually were able to get an introduction episode released (only released on this website, and podcast feed).  a few weeks later, we were able to release the official first episode.  both of us had some great ideas on where to take it … it was just a matter of finding common ground.

unfortunately, we have not yet been able to get things going again to get another show out.  so as of now, The Ear Bud Lounge is no longer.  the feed has been deleted, and the site will only remain as long as its next renewal.  i’ve been toying with the idea of having some form of this show included on The Webcramp Project, but thats still undecided at this point.  there is a possibility that in the future we may try to revisit this, but again, its still undecided.

i appreciate all of those who have listened the EBL podcast, and was very surprised by the amount of downloads it received. seriously, it was much more than i ever expected.

with that being said, it’s been over a month since the last Webcramp Project episode, and i haven’t even begun recording for the next one.  for those that keep up with the show TWP isn’t going anywhere.  i’m just more concerned with releasing a show i’m happy with, rather than releasing one just to have another episode out.  hopefully it will be sooner rather than later.

yea, it finally happened. the free K7 voicemail line, for the time being, is gone.

apparently i went beyond the 30 day time frame without any calls, so K7 deleted it.

i guess its not really all that big of a deal though. its not like many even called it. there were a few, and for those few that did, i thank you.

im thinking about getting another, but if no one is gonna call it i dont really see the point. but i’ll probably end up getting one anyway … ’cause that’s just how i am.

i will ask you listeners out there though, …

yea, i know its been a while … believe me i know.

my intended release date is long past due, and i know its gonna be at least another few days, at the earliest, that i’ll have #9 out. i’ve tried recording at least 20 times since #8, but most of the recordings sounded forced, the others just lacked any interesting content (in my opinion).

all were deleted.

maybe i shouldn’t have thrown them out right away. maybe i could have sifted through a few to come up with one mediocre episode. but that would have meant editing. while i dont mind a little editing, having to spend most of a day, or weekend sifting through half-ass shows to come up with one “ehh” episode … no thanks. i’ve done enough of that on the first 8 in Garageband (which for the most part, i’m no longer using to record).

i promise i’m not goin’ anywhere. i have fun recording, and enjoy listening to how the show is developing. i like you, want to have episodes released on a much more consistent basis. i see the show morphing into something different in the future. there are some ideas i want to play around with on the show to see if they’ll work. don’t go unsubscribing just yet. hang in there, im still around.

haven’t thrown in the towel just yet … and honestly don’t expect to.

it’s been almost 2 and a half months since i’ve released my last episode. while some seem to think i’ve podfaded, im coming here to reiterate that im not going anywhere. yes, episode 6 is coming along slowly, but it is coming. im hoping to have it posted by the end of the week. i know … i’ve said that before, but ya know what … life happens and sometimes there is very little you can do to control it.

it’s been brought to my attention that how i had my show posts set up was a kind of a pain in the ass for people who dont want to subscribe. point taken. i did some searching and found a button i will display on my posts whenever i release another podcast episode. so if you dont want to subscribe all you’ll need to do is look for the image posted below in whichever show post you want to listen to …

and then …

• for PC users … right click & click on “save target as”
• for Mac user … ctrl + click & click on “download link target”

from there the episode should download right to your computer. or you can just click on the link and the audio will play as soon as it loads up. hope this makes it a little easier for everyone.

so as most of you that are subscribed to my podcast know i havent posted an episode for quite some time. now, i’ve had some pretty busy weekends lately and thats when i normally do my recording. during the week has not been a good time for me.

with that being said … i have an idea of where i want this podcast to go. it may take just a little more time to prepare for, but i DO plan on releasing another episode as soon as i can. i have NOT podfaded, nor do i plan on podfading. sometimes i may have more time between episodes than others, but trust me … im not goin’ anywhere.

sitting here at my friend Sully’s house, not ready to go back home to Chicago just yet. i’ve had a great time visiting with him and his family the past few days. we have gone to some awesome resturaunts, been taking mad videos, and generally having good times hangin’ out.

as of this post we really haven’t done much recording for the show. not for any reason, we just haven’t. if we’re able to within the next few hours (before i get on my plane) then cool, if not, thats cool too. i don’t want to force any of this, i just want it to come natural.

i definitely need to make it a priority to get down here more often.

here i am, back at wordpress, in search of a website that im happy with, that will work with my podcast, and be easy to manage. im moderately knowledgeable with WordPress (free version). earlier this year i was using this page as my personal blog, but since then have decided to go a different route with that.

so far all seems good here. i’ve created a feedburner link on my sidebar to subscribe to my podcast through various podcast feed applications, including itunes. if you dont want to subscribe, still click on the “Subscribe” link, this will bring you to my feedburner page that should have all my most recent episodes listed. choose the one you would like to download to your computer.

you should also be able to click the “Play” on whichever episode you would like to listen to, and it will just play. if all works out the way i would like, i’ll be switching my domain to point to this site within the next few days.
